What would you do when the road ends

FAQs

After 15 years of building these trailers I have been asked many questions, some original and most the same. Do not expect a bland generic answer, that is not the way I roll! Here are the most common questions and their answers:

How long does it take to build a trailer or convert a van?

This one is a challenging question because of the many factors involved, however the simple answer involves a caveat (We do not ever guarantee a deliver date), having said that, the quickest we can do any of this will be about 2 months. The longest is typically 6 months, and the average is right there at about 4 months.

Will you customize your trailers beyond the options on your website?

My degree is in architecture. I designed the first trailer because I wanted to build something, which had never been done before. I must have been on to something as you can now see how many companies have started up with similar trailers. I like creating. This means, if you have an idea, YES I absolutely will figure out how to make it happen. Building the same ol’ same ol’ is more profitable but not nearly as exciting.

Do you have any dealers near me?

Sorry, we do not. We have been approached countless times with requests to be dealers and each time as part of their agreement we were required to increase our price by 25%+. I did not get into this to gouge people so I have declined those offers. Unfortunately that means we may not have a trailer near you, but I also do not need to pad the price that much. Let me know where you are located, I might have a customer near you. Our customers are like family and always offer to show off their trailers and vans.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, somewhat, if you are in a state, which has Zions Bank, yes, they have the best rates. If not, we use Wells Fargo, but their rates are not good. 90% of the time our customers find better rates at their own credit union or bank.

Can you match my rims and tires?

Yes, our stock rims are 15” steel with 31” Off-Road tires, but we can match any hub pattern and rim/tire combo.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes, we offer a 12-month complete warranty. Okay that is the official statement, however if you can get the trailer to me and cover my employees hourly wage and my wholesale price for the parts, bring me your trailer 20 years from now, and if I am still breathing I will fix your trailer, despite your negligence causing the issue. I did not start this business to make money. It was and always will be a hobby. I am a professional pilot, so as long as I am earning a salary flying planes, I will continue to do what I can for the overlanding community.

What are the color options?

This is like shooting a moving target. The company that makes our skins seems to enjoy keeping us on our toes. The simple answer is (the usual) Black, White, Grey, Silver, then it depends on their mood that year. We can custom paint or custom wrap to match any color you desire.

Can you do independent suspension?

Yes, we can install Timbren axles, however this adds a lot of costs and in our opinion not worth the added expense. Our torsion axle provides 16” of ground clearance, which means your tow vehicle will get hung up before the trailer. The torsion axle is strong and tried and true. We believe your money would be better spent elsewhere. Having said that we have installed independent suspensions on at least 4 trailers.
